This Tony Award winning musical is a celebration of Broadway and the people involved in show business. With music by Harry Warren, lyrics by Al Dubin and a book by Michael Stewart and Mark Bramble, 42nd Street is based on the novel by Bradford Ropes. 42nd Street started out as a movie in 1933 (starring Ruby Keeler, Dick Powell and Ginger Rogers), opened on Broadway in 1980, ran for nine years and then enjoyed a four year revival in 2001. A story of hard work, being in the right place at the right time, talent and love, the musical highlights aspiring chorus girl Peggy Sawyer and takes us on her journey to stardom. Musical hits include Lullaby of Broadway, You're Getting to Be a Habit with Me and 42nd Street.

Camelot’s production is directed by Livia Genise and choreographed by Rebecca K. Campbell, with musical direction by Michael Wing. It stars Campbell as Maggie Jones, Sarah Gore as Peggy Sawyer, Linda Otto as Dorothy Brock, Galen Schloming as Billy Lawlor and Tyler Ward as Julian Marsh. They are joined by a cast of 15, including middle school students Aubrey Campbell and Mckinley Ropers; high school students Caitlin Campbell, Julia Holden-Hunkins, Shaundra Cook, Rigo Jimenez and Alexa Nienhaus; SOU students Holly Nienhaus and Payne Smith and features Camelot regulars and newcomers Marlena Gray, Chun-Han (CH) Chou, Tim Kelly, Kathleen Marrs and Roy Rains.
The offstage band for “42nd Street” consists of Karl Iverson (First Keyboard), Kathy Campbell (Second Keyboard), Lori Calhoun (Reeds), Jesus Mendoza (Trumpet) and Steve Sutfin (Percussion).
BIOS
Livia Genise ~ Director
A former Broadway actress and Camelot’s Artistic Director, Livia Genise has both directed and starred in many Camelot productions, including All the King’s Men, Funny Girl, Rags, Gigi, Cabaret, Shenandoah, Sockdology, Sweeney Todd and Master Class. She was seen most recently as Mama Rose in Camelot's production of Gypsy.
Rebecca Campbell ~ Choreographer/ Maggie Jones
Camelot’s Conservatory Director and Artistic Associate to the Artistic Director, Ms. Campbell served as the Director of Dance at Pacific University for 6 years and has over 15 years of experience as an instructor in performing arts. At CTC, she has directed such shows as The Secret Garden and Into the Woods, as well as the Conservatory productions Once Upon A Mattress, Seusical, Jr., Cinderella, Into the Woods and Anything Goes. Ms. Campbell choreographed shows at CTC ranging from White Christmas to Zorba and has appeared in White Christmas, Shenandoah and Spotlight on Judy Garland. She teaches Social Studies at the Crater School of Business and holds a B.A. in Music and History from Pacific University, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from SOU.
Michael Wing ~ Musical Director
Michael Wing has performed as soloist with the Rogue Valley Chorale, Southern Oregon Repertory Singers, and Rogue Opera. His Camelot debut was in Sweeney Todd. He has directed vocals and music for over a dozen community and school productions, including My Fair Lady, Hello, Dolly!, Pippin, Crazy for You and Camelot's The Scarlet Pimpernel. Wing teaches vocal music at St. Mary’s School and has adjudicated at choral festivals and clinics around the state.
Sarah Gore ~ Peggy Sawyer
Sarah Gore has been a part of Camelot Theater's theatrical productions in many different capacities. She has been seen on stage as Katrin in I Remember Mama, Babe in Crimes of the Heart and many ensemble roles in musicals such as The Secret Garden, White Christmas, Funny Girl, Gigi and Gypsy. She has been an Instructor and Stage Manager for the Camelot Theatre Conservatory for four years and properties mistress for the last two years.
Linda Otto ~ Dorothy Brock
A Court Appointed Special Advocate for children (CASA) and a PostPartum Doula for new moms and infants, Linda Otto’s favorite roles include Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (Actor’s Theatre), Amanda in Glass Menagerie (Artattack Theatre), plus memorable characters in the “old Camelot Theatre” in Crimes of the Heart, Dancing at Lughnasa, Spitfire Grill and The Wisdom of Eve.
Galen Schloming ~ Billy Lawlor
Galen Schloming graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Communication and as a member of the Musical Theatre Program. Chicago credits include La Cage Aux Folles, Stop Kiss and The Boys From Syracuse, as well as Shenandoah at the Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire; Los Angeles credits include performances of Rent and Parade. An Oregon native, Schloming has been seen at Oregon Cabaret Theatre, Actors Theatre and Rogue Opera in productions of Children of Eden, HMS Pinafore, Ali Baba and The Mikado, among others.
Tyler Ward ~ Julian Marsh
Tyler Ward attended Bowling Green State University where he studied acting and directing. Some past credits include Macbeth and Titus Andronicus for Lionface Productions, Ebeneezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol and two separate productions of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged). He was seen most recently as Renfield/Morris in Dracula at the Randall Theatre in Medford.
