Directed by Artistic Director Livia Genise, Camelot’s production of “Amadeus” stars Paul R. Jones as Antonio Salieri and SOU students Max Gutfreund as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Grace Peets as Mozart’s wife, Constanza. The supporting cast includes David Dials as Baron van Swieten, David Eisenberg as Kappelmeister Bonno/ Salieri’s Valet, Ric Hagerman as Johann Kikan von Strack, BriAnna Johnson as Katherina Cavalieri, Tim Kelly as Salieri’s cook/servant, Buzz London as Count Orsini-Rosenberg, Brian O’Connor as Venticelli 2, Ryan Primm as Venticelli 1 and Jack Seybold as Emporer Joseph II.

The production team for “Amadeus” includes lighting designer Tatiana Watkins, set designer Paul Flowers (assisted by Roy von Rains, Jr. and Tyler Ward), properties master Tyler Ward and sound/audio/video designer Brian O’Connor. Costume Coordination is by Tina Skaletsky, with Wigs by Virginia Carol Hudson. Resident Stage Manager Taja Watkins heads up the technical team of Tana Watkins (light board operator) and Brianna Gowland (video/sound board operator). Tyler Ward is the assistant director. Kendra Taylor is the music advisor and Daniel Stephens is choreographer and movement specialist.

Livia Genise ~ Director
Ms. Genise has been a professional actress and member of Actors Equity Association since 1969. She is also a member of AFTRA, AGVA and SAG. An Ashland resident and Camelot’s Artistic Director, Ms. Genise holds a B.F.A. in Voice from Southern Oregon University and has taught and directed for over 20 years. She began her stage career at the St. Louis Municipal Opera in 1969 and has performed throughout the country from Broadway (Rizzo in Grease) to Hollywood, guest starring on everything from Three’s Company to Hill St. Blues, including a four-month stint on Days of our Lives. Bay Area audiences have seen her in over 30 productions, from roles such as Mrs. Shubert in Sheer Madness at the Mason Street Theatre to Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing for the VITA Shakespeare Festival to Hesione in Triumph of Love at TheatreWorks. Ms. Genise has received Awards for Best Actress in a Musical from Dean Goodman, Drama-Logue and the Bay Area Critics Circle. The founder and Artistic Director of the Camelot Theatre Company, Ms. Genise’s directing and acting credits at CTC include over 50 shows since 2002. A committed member of the community of the Rogue Valley, Ms. Genise is the current President of the Talent Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, as well as a member of the Medford Rogue Rotary, and a regular volunteer for the Ashland Chamber of Commerce as MC for both the Festival of Lights and the 4th of July entertainment in Lithia Park.
Max Gutfreund ~ Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
ax Gutfreund is a Junior at SOU, majoring in Elementary Education. This is his fourth show at Camelot. Recent productions include All The King's Men, Gypsy and 1776.
Paul R. Jones ~ Antonio Salieri
Paul R. Jones was last seen onstage at Camelot as Ben Franklin in 1776. Among his favorite roles at Camelot have been Judge Irwin in All the Kings Men, Al Lewis in The Sunshine Boys, Richard Nixon in Frost/Nixon, Herr Schultz in Cabaret and Capt. Beatty in Fahrenheit 451. Jones played Salieri exactly twenty years ago and is thrilled to “live him” again.
Grace Peets ~ Constanze Weber
Grace Peets is a freshman at Southern Oregon University majoring in Vocal Performance. She started acting in high school and has performed in many drama productions, including three at Camelot Theatre Conservatory. Her favorite roles include playing Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, Cinderella in Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella and Rapunzel in Into the Woods. Peets also enjoys singing opera and has been training classically for the past four years. This last year, she competed in the OSAA State Soprano Competition and placed 4th in the state. Peets plans on pursuing a career in performing arts and hopes to be onstage the rest of her life.
